{Kellan, 6 months} Boulder, Colorado Family Photographer
October 8, 2010Holy cow. This beautiful little 6 month old baby weighs more than my 13 month old! When I went to pick him up the first time out of that rocking chair I was so surprised. He looks so sweet and chubby and light, but don’t let that fool you. My daughter spend all evening crawling in and out of this bassinet, and never once did the bottom drop out. When we put Kellan in it, he dropped right through! Sorry mom! I am glad he did not get hurt:)
He really is such a sweet, happy, mellow baby. He had such a long drive to get here-all the way from Fort Collins, and he was still so smiley the whole time. We did this shoot at Munson Farms in Boulder. It is such a beautiful place, if you get a chance to take your kids there to get a pumpkin it is well worth it.
So, I am scrambling around today trying to get ready for my trip to Mexico AND prepare for my mini sessions this weekend. As of now, I am doing 11 mini sessions and one full session this weekend. It *sounds* like an obscene amount, but I have done mini sessions so many times that I really do have it down to a fine art. I will write a blog post soon about how to run mini sessions smoothly for all my photographer readers out there. But really, I overload my families with a ton of info beforehand, detailing exactly how it will be, what to think about and do at the session, and how to prepare, and then it all seems to flow naturally from there. I only have three mini sessions tonight, and in reality, that is much shorter than a newborn session, so it is not too much.
Anyways, it is mostly the preparing for Mexico thing that has got me worked up. Does anyone else get anxious when trying to prepare for a vacation with your kids? It seems like there is just too much to think about and forget. But once we are there, we will JUST be relaxing (well, as much as you can with a rambunctious 1 year old).
I am going to try and get a few more sneak peaks up before I leave. Can’t wait to do all these sessions this weekend! I really, really love shooting, so a weekend that is full of photography and nothing else seems like a treat to me. We will see. I am going to have to use that relaxation device Adam got me a whole lot in the next few days. I will let you know how well it works:)
Also, I reeally need to take my cell phone in to get fixed or get a new one, but I am not sure I will have time before we leave. I can’t hear anything on it, but I people can hear me. At least I can still receive texts, though I dislike texting. Anyways, if you do need me, text my cell 720-345-4674 or call my home office phone (it is my Karma Baby line and you will have to sit through a long message) 303-443-1834. As always, email is best:)

Stacey!
I have been checking your website ~ 50 times/day (just ask my colleagues and husband – they are about sick of me!), waiting to get the sneak peak! You have such a talent, capturing the ‘many faces’ of Kellan so beautifully. I am in tears – these are just beautiful! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Have a wonderful vacation!
