I will be back again in a few weeks! I am finally getting to go see my whole family in Tennessee. We had to postpone the trip because I got sick, but I am doing a little better now and think I can manage the flight with two kids. We’ll see. So a week with all 9 of the grandkids, then we come back for fireworks in Boulder, I am doing a few shoots here the next day and then leaving again for San Francisco! I have a TON of shoots planned there. At least 12 right now. A great vacation, right? But expect a lot of blog posts when I get back and a lot of amazing photos since it is sooo beautiful there! In the meantime, if you are waiting for prints or a cd, my new office manager, Kellie, will be handling that while I am away and will either mail them for you or give you info on where to pick them up. She is awesome, believe me. I will still be on email here and there, so don’t hesitate to contact me, too! If I owe you a phone call I will be doing that in Tennessee later this week-I am about a week behind on responding to voicemails. Whew! Here we go!

xoxo,

Stacey

Most. Beautiful. Wedding. Ever. Julia and Kevin planned my perfect wedding. It was deep, deep in the mountains. I am talking driving down a dirt path, not even a road, for miles on end, to get to this little Buddhist retreat house in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. It was so peaceful and incredibly beautiful up there. What a perfect place to choose to get married. And of course this is one of my favorite families, and I have been  photographing them for about a year now, so I felt like a family member witnessing them saying their vows. It was hard to choose which photos to post on the blog, I could really put them all up-I might post more when I get back from my trips in a couple weeks. For now, I wanted to share this beautiful little wedding with everyone. Congratulations Julia and Kevin (and Willa)!

I just had to put up one photo for Grandma before I left for two weeks on my trips. I was so honored to photograph the family of one of my best friend’s. My friend Nick is getting married this weekend, and the whole thing is a whirlwind for me. We had this little family shoot for his sister, then of we went to the rehearsal dinner (which was more like a reception, it was beautiful, nothing compared to the reception I had in Nick’s common house when I got married oh-so-long-ago). Tomorrow I am shooting the lovely Julia’s wedding, then I rush back down to Boulder to go to Nick’s wedding. Crazy. Then we leave for a week to TN to see my whole family (and there are a lot of us-5 kids and 10 grandkids), and then we come back for three days, in which I have back to back shoots the whole time, and then off again to San Francisco, from which you will see a kazillion shoots. So, the blog may be dead for a couple weeks, but then be ready for a whirlwind.

Best, xoxo

I love every single photo I ever take of this little girl-even the ones that are blurry because she is moving so darn FAST. She is always on the move, so it is nice when she stops for just a second. But, even when she is running away she just has the most expression of any child I have seen at this age. I really want to eat her up.

What a sweet, sweet little girl! She is just so beautiful! I just love sessions like these. We had a beautiful morning with a ton of clouds (clouds are good for photos!), and Harper’s mom brought a bunch of cute clothes and toys. I think Harper was a little confused at first about what we were doing in a field hopping around her and making noises, but she soon got used to it and we got some priceless images. My favorites are of her trying to walk. She is so cute and I just love this age.

So if I were to shoot weddings, I would only shoot for the tight-rope walking, dog hugging, poppy loving type of people. Really, I love babies and little people because they are just so freaking real. I did the whole formal wedding thing when I was apprenticing. I learned a lot, yes. It was an invaluable experience.  But, my true love is to photograph what is real. So, I am grateful that this couple chose me to shoot their wedding (coming soon!). This has to be the cutest little girl in the world, no? Here she is at seven months. And they keep living in these cute Boulder bungalows right in the center of town. I love that I get to document their life. Willa is totally going to thank me 17 years from now. I will bet on it. Stay tuned, many beautiful wedding photos to come…

What a beautiful little boy! Sometimes it is hard to get those squishy, curled up newborn photos after a baby is two weeks old. But Emerson was just perfect. He stayed awake a lot of the time, but slept just long enough for us to get some very sweet photos of him. I even got to use my new macro lens (see the first photo) which I have been dying to try out for a month now! He was such a smiley baby too.

Well, here are more of beautiful Nell! She was such a calm, sweet baby. And look at all that dark hair! Apparently Avery’s hair was the same color when she was born, and now she is a beautiful blond.  Big sister was also so helpful and happy! I am in love with both of them. helpful and happy. I am in love with both of them:)

What a beautiful, big boy! I think he was 9lbs, 6 oz when he was born. Wow. Both my children where 7lbs, 2oz, a big difference! You can see him in his mama’s belly just the day before his birth here. He was just the sweetest little baby. And I think I got like 10 photos of his feet, too:) Anyways, I have been shooting a ton the last week, and have a lot of sneak peak’s to put up, so if you are waiting, it may be just a couple days:) I lost my intern last week, too, and my wonderful office manager that manages my other business, Karma Baby, will be taking over, so it may take a few weeks for us to get everything here running smoothly, but I will catch up soon!
