So many pregnant bellies lately! Thank goodness I am no longer pregnant;)  I do love the pregnant body though, it is flat out the most miraculous thing I could ever imagine and I am honored when I get to photograph pregnant women.  I was just a couple weeks post partum myself when I did these photos for Jessica and she was 40 weeks already! I am going tomorrow to Ft. Collins to photograph their brand new baby girl, who was born just a few days ago so keep a look out for a newborn blog post tomorrow night!

Seriously one of the most beautiful newborns I have ever seen.  Look at those lashes!  And those lips! That hair! I have NEVER photographed a baby this sleepy. His mammas gave him a bath just before the shoot and turned up the heat a ton, which may be why we got almost three sleepy hours with him.  At the end we got him naked and took him outside to see if he would try to wake up so we could get some shots of his beautiful eyes, but he was still too sleepy.  Still, we got so many beautiful photos of him, it was hard to choose my favorites.  They sent me home with a bag of m&m’s that say ‘Elijah” on them for my own son, Elijah.  Beautiful baby AND a great name.

Look at those baby blues! And both of the boys got them.  Aren’t they SO gorgeous?  This family was a lot of fun to photograph and both boys has a ton of personality-making my job a lot easier:). I am super behind on blogging right now (there are about 4 sessions I need to put up!) so keep an eye out for some more photos in the next few days…

I wish I could remember what Fin was pretending to be in the photo.  We kept telling him to pretend to be or do something to get him animated.  My guess is driving a horse and buggy.  Any other guesses?

My wonderful friend had her beautiful little boy last week, Evan.  I can just imagine what he is going to be like as a toddler-he is going to bring so much joy into his parent’s life running around.  I did this entire shoot with my daughter Amelia (4 weeks old), who was at first the sweetest, calmest baby, and is now a little, ahem, fussy. But, thank goodness, Evan was a happy (and awake) baby and we got a lot of great shots.  More to come in a  few days!

Holiday Card Mini Sessions

September 10, 2009

It is Christmas time!  Well, almost. At least it is time to start thinking about Christmas cards. I am happy to be getting ready for the season already and excited to celebrate Amelia’s first Christmas!  Nothing is sweeter than snuggling up with a newborn during the winter season.

I love it when October rolls around and I get to do outdoor family sessions with the AMAZING autumn leaves to frame every photo. A lot of my families will save their one family session a year to do in the fall just because Colorado gets such beautiful colors.

I am offering mini sessions for Holiday cards on Saturday October 17 at Chautauqua Park in Boulder.  Each family session (up to four people) is 30 minutes long and includes:
~A private gallery with 10-15 beautiful images of your family and children/baby (in color and b&w)
~Any of the below holiday cards custom created with your choice of photos
~25 professionally press printed Christmas cards (double sided 5″x7″ cards with envelopes).
~Ability to order more cards, prints or the digital files separately (think Christmas presents for grandparents)

Cost of package is $150 and payment is due at time of booking.
Please email me with your top two choices for times.  Sessions will begin at 8am and be on the hour and half hour.
8am-11am
and
3pm-6pm

Just shoot me an email if you have an questions, I am happy to help!

Introducing My Amelia

September 9, 2009

She has arrived!!! Our beautiful daughter made her entrance into the world on August 24th, 2009, at home, into the loving hands of her daddy.  We had a quick, beautiful water birth that was photographed by the BEST birth photographer around: Kimberly Goin Rodgers.  The birth photos were so amazing! I will have to do a separate post with some of them.

So, as most of you probably anticipated, as the newborn photographer I did go crazy on the newborn photos.  She is just over two weeks now and I feel like I still did not get enough photos of her when she was all new and squishy!  It is a little harder doing your own newborn’s photos yourself.  I was feeling great after the birth, but still, trying to take photos wore me out pretty quickly.  I ended up doing just a few photos every day to give myself a little break. If you scroll your mouse over each photo it should tell you how old Amelia was on that day.

So, there are still a few newborn poses I want to get-baby hanging in gauze from a tree, baby nestled up in daddy’s arm, etc…  Keep a look out for some more photos of my beautiful new daughter soon!

I made this hat with my mad crocheting skills.  All the other hats can be found made by someone else on Etsy:)ameliaday10h

She really is such an angel.  She is so peaceful.  She sleeps well, nurses well, and when she is awake, she just calmly looks around as if saying ” Oh, here I am again. Okay…”

I *can’t wait* to get studio-like shots with Adam and Amelia.  I have so many great ideas.  I got Adam a tattoo gift card for his birthday but he won’t be getting it until the 20th!  She will be almost a month then, but hopefully not too big for newborn photos with daddy.
