The beauty of carrying a child…
August 9, 2009Really, what could be more beautiful than growing a baby? I love to photograph pregnant women. It is much different than photographing babies or children. It is an art to be able to capture the essence of what it means to actually carry a child within you. It is mysterious, beautiful, sweet, sexy, and magical. Nothing compares to it. It makes me a bit sad that I will only be able to be pregnant a few times in my life. Sad, and yet, if I could stop being pregnant right now I would-it is definitely a catch-22. I love it, and it is really hard. One of the hardest things I have ever done. But worth much more pain and effort for the baby that I will get to love for the rest of my life.

August 8, 2009I *love* being able to photograph babies as they grow. Nothing is better than seeing that sweet, wrinkled little newborn baby you just saw now sitting up and smiling. I was able to photograph so many expressions today-she is just so full of life and curiosity. I had to get up just a few tonight on the blog in case I go into labor. I don’t want to make her parents wait too long!
1 Year old cutie
August 6, 200931 weeks pregnant….
August 5, 2009It was so nice to photograph this beautiful mama today. She is simply gorgeous, and really does embody the pregnant female archetype. I am officially 37 weeks pregnant-full term! Any day now. This mama looks so small to me! She found me through our Colorado doula’s group and is actually a doula-in-training and needs to attend some free or low cost births to get her certification, so if you know someone that could use a doula then email me and I can get in contact with her. If I stop blogging you will all know why!
~ as I was writing this my son picked up a sharp pen and asked me if he could “pop my belly.” I love kids!
And her beautiful little 1 1/2 year old guy. Such a sweetheart!
