Elijah {Colorado Portrait Photographer}
April 26, 2009My son is seriously the best child a photographer could ask for. He will do almost anything I ask. Today, we had to do a ton of moving at our storage container. Elijah helped the whole time, and then when I got too tired I dragged him away to get some quick shots. I asked him to sit there and put his elbow on his knee with his head on his hand, and he did it it better than I could have asked! He is a little performer. As I am writing this he is standing on the back of my chair, his arms wrapped around me and he just whispered “Mommy, I love you in my heart, and my heart is beeping.” Nothing is better than being a parent.
If Anthropologie had a kid’s line, this gorgeous little girl would be their model. And, they should have a children’s line. I would definitely buy my daughter’s clothes there. Either way, if you are looking for a great place to find clothes for your session (for you) , Anthropologie is great. They have one on the 29th Street mall. For babies and children, you can almost never go wrong with something cute from Etsy.com. It is one of my very favorite places to shop, you get the most beautiful and well made clothing that you will never find anywhere else. Here is a favorite dressmaker of mine. Enjoy!

April 24, 2009I really am just in love with newborn photography. It is truly a form of art. There are photos from each newborn session that I would love to have put on canvas and displayed in my house-and they are not even my babies! Here are a few more of Connor that I just edited and love…and I wanted to try out my cool new logo! I have decided to switch to Stacey Potter Photography instead of Boulder Baby Photography bc I want to go back to doing a few weddings a year, and let’s face it, no one wants to say that Boulder Baby Photography did their wedding photos;)

My favorites from today. These photos have a big “studio” feel to them, since they were done inside with white backgrounds, which, for some reason, I generally do not like. I guess it is very product-y (which makes sense that I am using the white background for the commercial shoot). But these are sooooo sweet!
Hmm, I love the color of the blanket and her eyes in this photo, but does she look a little concerned? I still like it;)
I finally get the perfect shot with this hangy thing, and I promised another photographer friend I would pass it on to her! Ce la vie, I am off to find something new and better! I really what to find a big tree branch to hang a sheer, white sheet filled with a baby from. If you are in Boulder and find a thick, sturdy branch anywhere that you think may be good for baby-hanging, please email me!

April 19, 2009I am starting to think that photographing newborns is my favorite thing. It could be because I am still a few months away from holding my own new baby. Either way, even though I always make sure I get the sweet, calm, peaceful baby shots, I will never pass up the opportunity to get a baby crying. You may be so tired of hearing your baby now, but in just a few years there will be nothing sweeter to you then the cry of a newborn. So, even though we tortured this baby a little bit by putting him in a cold dish, it is still a cute photo.

Well, there was a template, but it took me hours figuring out how to insert the new blog into my current website, change the background and setting and pages, and then to transfer over the files from my old photography blog. But I did it! Yay! I love it!

April 12, 2009This little guys was so calm and mellow, and slept most of the time for us. The drive from Boulder to Thornton was very worth it-looking through his photos after this shoot, it seemed like every one was just perfect. What a gorgeous baby, and look at his proud big sister!
Just had to add one more because he is so sweet. I really love to photograph newborns. I have to say it is one of my very favorite things.
